This cape is the traditional cold weather outer dress of the Yi people from Zhaojue, an Yi settlement in the ‘Cool Mountains’ (Liangshan) Yi Autonomous Region in the south of China’s Sichuan province. The woolen fabric is handspun and handwoven from local fleece, and is extremely warm and somewhat water resistant.
